Largest taproom in Hanoi!

FURBREW Beer Bar is the tasting room for FURBREW. We are located in the middle of the Tây Ho area. The part  of Hanoi where extpats and locals find some of the best western inspired food and drinks.

At FURBREW we have 20 of our own beers on tap, this makes us the largest tap room in Hanoi.

FURBREW is craft beer – but we do have a few other things in the bar.

Hanoi Cider, and a selection of craft alcohols, as well as a few standard drinks and soft drinks.

We don’t have our own kitchen, but you can order food from a couple of nearby restaurants and have it served nicely at your table.

Choose between anything from a light snack, to a good steak. Or why not a 1 meter hand-chopped sausage.

Currently, we have menus from Cousins and from Daluva – ask the staff.

Beers on tap

Sunset Ale (Golden Ale)

A beer with character. This beer is a good beer for pondering in the sunset, or just with a good salty snack or semi spicy meal.

ABV:
IBU:

Tây (Pale Ale - American)

In this pale ale, the richness of the malt is balanced out with the Nelson Sauvin hop, adding slightly retsin freshness to the beer.
The hint of lemon comes from the Motueka hops.

ABV:
IBU:

Ruby IPA (IPA - American)

The coffee notes of the roasted malts and the generous use of hops give your tastebuds something to work with.

The recipe is a present from a friend in Denmark. Adapted to the NZ hops, and very much a beer you don’t easily forget.

ABV:
IBU:

Passion Wheat (Witbier)

A classical wheat beer. The sweetish, almost, candylike aromas, balanced out with the lemony scents from the NZ Motueka hop, only added after the boil.

Finally we add some fresh passion. The citric, almost gummy bear-ish aroma of the passion suits this beer good.

ABV:
IBU:

Lime Leaf Wheat (Pale Wheat Ale - American)

A classical wheat beer, in a local version.

The sweetish, almost, candylike aromas occuring in the wheat beer, plays with all the scents from lime leafs – This beer ended up with a soft sweetness and an aroma like nothing else.

ABV:
IBU:

Bia Phở (Spiced / Herbed Beer)

The challenge. Make a beer that tastes like Phở.
Our answer is here.
The umami taste from the broth is imitated by some light roasted malts, and a good sweetness. The five big spices are added, as well as a fast infusion of some hot chillies.

ABV:
IBU:

Hoa IPA (IPA - American)

Located behind the flower market in Hanoi we sought inspiration from the daily bombardment of scents to our Boston IPA from here.
So we bring you “Flower” in Vietnamese, an ever-changing beer; Changing as the flowers and citrus fruits of Vietnam come and go over the seasons.

ABV:
IBU:

Hanoi Saison (Saison / Farmhouse Ale)

We finally found something useful to so in the autumn heat in Hanoi. Fermenting a Saison, or Farmhouse ale. Made the traditional way. Just ferment in the shadow, not temperature control, and add some spices, orange zest and some cloves to match it.

ABV:
IBU:

Chinook IPA (IPA - American)

Refreshingly simple. Strong in alcohol and complex in the taste.

Just the taste of good barly and one good hop. Here the Chinook (US), with a crisp lemony taste, almost tarty.

ABV:
IBU:

Beach beer (Cream Ale)

Summer is here. and summer is warm in Hanoi.

Light, refreshing, easy. Just what you need when you are thirsty, and somehow, safe drinking water is not to be found.

ABV:
IBU:

The Perfect 100 (Stout - Imperial / Double)

ABV:
IBU:

Mulberry Sour (Sour - Ale)

This Mulberry sour came on sudden inspiration in the Mulberry season. We ended up with a pink sour ale with the distinct taste of the Mulberries. Strong, and drinkable.

ABV:
IBU:

Acrostic (Specialty Ale)

We spent a fun day brewing with Brian of Winking Seal from HCMC, and we proudly created this unicorn of a beer. The spices cover the full rainbow of possibilities. Enjoy, and may it riddle you!

ABV:
IBU:

White Smoke

Some years back, in Poland, they started brewing this beer again. It is a light, easy beer, with a clear taste of smoke. Low in alcohol, high in pleasure.

ABV:
IBU:

Aquatic Predator (Barley Wine)

Lurking as a predator in murky waters, this beer will come and get you. A barley wine, strictly on malt, intense like a slice of fresh bread. Tinted green by squid ink, salted with fish sauce salt, topped up with a pair of dried seahorses – known for their magical powers. A beer not encountered before, and maybe you wish you never met it…

ABV:
IBU:

Bia Chua

Sourness happens in Vietnam. Here is a sour beer. The lemony aroma, the acid in the taste, all naturally fermented.
Enjoy and be sweet, the beer is NOT.

ABV:
IBU:

Mangrove Water (Sour - Gose)

Saline deprevation kills mangroves and humans alike. We made a beer to help you. A slightly salty and sour (!!) beer.

ABV:
IBU:

Early Bird (Brown Ale - American)

A rather dry, malty beer whit a lot of dry hops.

The malts give a roasted taste, the 62 degree mash a very low sugar level, and the hops an awfull lof of taste.

Not an easy beer, but a damnd good one.

ABV:
IBU:

Bee Prepared (Honey Ale)

Bee Prepared for an addicting ale, if you have a sweet tooth. This honey colored ale will stay in your nose and on your taste buds for some time. Deliberately made a bit sweet, to enhance the taste and aroma from the Longan flower honey. We added a bit of wild ginger, just to balance the sweetness.

ABV:
IBU:

8.01 (Stout - Other)

We have tried to make a classic taste go liquid again. This time the mix of chocolate and mint. Our stout celebrates one of the most well known filled chocolates; the After Eight.

Our Team

Perfect 100

Perfect 100 is the company that makes the FURBREW beer. It was started by Mr. Trung, but is now owned by Mr. Trung (51%) and Mr. Thomas (49%).

We produce beer in our brewery in The 100 Beer Garden, and sell it in our own bars, and at bar and restaurants around Hanoi and other cities in Vietnam.

CEO

Phan Thanh Trung (Mr. Trung).

Trung founded the business, but have later sold 49% to Thomas.

General Director and Master Brewer

Thomas Bilgram (Mr. Thomas)

Thomas owns 49%. He was making beers in Denmark for some years. Now he takes care to sell FURBREW to other bars and restaurants in Vietnam. He also tries his best to look busy. You can be lucky to meet him in the bar.

Master Brewer

Łukasz Sędzielowski

Our Polish brewer. He makes most of the beer – like 99+% – and together with Thomas he decides what we brew. He loves brewing.

Master Mind

Trong Ngoc

Our Vietnamese brain in the brewery. Trust us, without him, no beer would be made. He fixes, he support brewing, he can even brew on his own.

Apart from us we have a team of four lovely and good staff in the brewery and about 15 staffs in our two bars. All of these are critical for our success.
